In Richard Wright’s “Between the World and Me” (1935) discuss and analyze three literary aspects of this surreal lynching poem. This critical literary essay in MLA style should have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion and their component parts. Here you should set up your thesis, state your thesis, briefly state how you will support your thesis in terms of specific literary aspects (characters, themes, structure, point of view, title, tone & attitude, diction, genre, intertextuality, symbolism, signification, or setting) and have a transition sentence to the body of the essay. Paragraphs in the body of the essay must have topic sentences on literary aspects. To support your critical analysis you should quote or paraphrase from the poem and use the secondary sources (Judith Herman, Clovis Semmes, and George Liptiz) to support your analysis.

After watching Memento consider the ways that trauma fractures memory. Leonard is able to survive despite this fracture. As his investigation begins to unfold and mysteries are revealed he decides that it is better to forget some things. Trauma shapes and molds us to become who we are today. They reveal our complicated identities. When we lie about these traumas they keep us from understanding ourselves. We might be allowed to create alternate versions of ourselves that are removed not only from trauma but acceptance of our complicated identities. What are lies that we tell ourselves about ourselves, in history (American or otherwise), in popular culture, or within our social issues? Reflect on one particular lie that we tell ourselves. This may be something that has already been proven false but the lie remains more popular than the truth or it may be something you′ve deduced yourself. Once you′ve decided which, consider how this lie that we tell ourselves in your example causes more trauma or problems rather than if we just accepted the truth.
Please respond to this in no less than 350 words.

<
This course has major project assignments due in Weeks 3 and 5. It will take more than a week’s effort to adequately complete them. Plan time to start the research and other work for those assignments earlier than the week in which they are due.
<
<
In Weeks 1 and 3, you focused on a famous leader and his or her leadership style, ethics, moral intelligence, credibility, principles, power, and beliefs. You also assessed the effect the leader had on the culture and ethics of the organization. Now, it is time to take what you have learned in those areas and apply it in self-reflection.
<
<
Analyze your own principles, values, beliefs, and behaviors, citing examples and research to support your assessment.
<
What are your fundamental principles (e.g., four universal principles)?
<
What are your core values?
<
What are your beliefs about people in organizations, people outside organizations, power, processes/policies, and profit?
<
In what ways do your behaviors align (or don’t align) to your principles, values, and beliefs?
<
From research, choose two leadership theories that you most relate to in terms of your own leadership. Provide a substantive synthesis of each leadership theory, including primary authors or researchers, the major points of each theory, and the similarities and differences between the two theories.
<
Analyze your leadership in relation to each of the two leadership theories, discussing how your principles, values, beliefs, and behaviors align (or don’t align) with each of the theories.
<
Compare your own leadership qualities with that of the leader you used in Weeks 1 and 3. Where are you similar to that leader and where are you different from that leader? Use examples and research to support your assessment.
<
Using examples and research, justify at least three key insights from your study that you can use to enhance the ethical aspects of your leadership influence.

What explains the global political events we observe? This class’ focus is on understanding the scientific study of international relations. Each section of the course is devoted to explaining different kinds of international political phenomena from different theoretical perspectives. In this assignment, students are tasked with critically evaluating one research article on a topic from the course that they find interesting. In so doing, they will need to briefly summarize the journal article (roughly 1-2 paragraphs), focusing in particular on the research question, theory and argument, and empirical findings (where relevant). The bulk of the paper
<
<
should focus on a) linking the article to topics/issues we have covered in the course, b) applying the findings to a current event, and c) discussing new directions subsequent research could take that would build on/extend the findings in your article. Keep these requirements in mind as you choose your article.
<
<
Papers will be graded according to how well they meet the above criteria, and also by the quality of writing. By quality of writing, I especially mean clarity (spelling and grammar) and organization of thought. As the assignment asks you to effectively summarize and integrate theories and current events, longer quotes consisting of more than 1 sentence will be penalized. Quotes should be used rarely anyway.

There are times when you are hurt, defensive, joyous, reserved, controlled, or angry. Acting professionally means controlling your emotions. While outbursts are unwelcome as a way of communicating or expressing yourself, emotions are important indicators of authenticity and can be reflections of the ethical and cultural foundations of an organization.
<
<
For the first part of your post:
<
<
Compare two leaders you are familiar with, one who managed emotion well and one who did not manage emotion well. Provide specific examples to support your stance on the emotional management of these leaders. How did their emotional management affect the organization?
<
<
For the second part of your post, select any one of the following bullet points. Attempt to spread the bullet points out among class members (e.g., not have one bullet point answered by all course participants).
<
<
Assess how a leader can most effectively manage emotions in the workplace. As a leader, how can one show appropriate emotional self-control or leverage emotions for organizational benefit?
<
Propose a research-supported policy or guideline statement (three or four action items) an organization might adopt concerning emotional expression in the workplace. How would such a policy enhance organizational culture? How would such a policy enhance ethics in the organization?
<
Propose a brief set of coaching points for how leaders should handle a situation where an employee or a customer is extremely emotional to an unprofessional point?
<
Conclude your post with a three or four sentence summary of the most important point, lesson or takeaways from your research and analysis for your initial post.
<
<
Provide a substantive (500–1,000 words) initial discussion posting. Justify your answers with examples and reasoning.
